What is Wrongful Conviction Day?
International Wrongful Conviction Day is a day to raise awareness of the causes and remedies of wrongful conviction and to recognise the tremendous personal, social, and emotional costs for innocent people and their families.
Wrongful Conviction Day began as an effort of the Innocence Network, an affiliation of organisations dedicated to providing pro bono legal and investigative services to individuals seeking to prove innocence of crimes for which they have been convicted, working to redress the causes of wrongful convictions, and supporting the exonerated after they are freed.
The Innocence Project London
Every year, people in the UK are wrongly convicted of crimes they did not commit. Once the appeals process is exhausted, most have nowhere left to turn. That’s when the Innocence Project London (IPL) steps in.
We are a member of the global Innocence Network. Based at the 亚色影库, we investigate claims of innocence from individuals who have exhausted the criminal appeals process.
Our team of students, working under academic and legal supervision, review case files and re-examine evidence in order to make applications to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) - the final hope for returning a wrongful conviction to the Court of Appeal.

The Innocence Project London is a registered charity. We don’t receive government funding - we depend entirely on the generosity of people like you.
We rely on donations. Any amount will help us accomplish our goals:
- 拢25 supports our administrative work to keep in contact with clients and applicants
- 拢100 supports the cost of one prison visit to interview a client
- 拢300 supports the cost of three prison visits to interview each client.
- 拢1000 will support the cost of casework manager for 6 hours a week to support the administration of the IPL, without whom we cannot effectively support applicants and clients
- 拢1500 helps instruct an expert to enhance CCTV
- 拢2000 helps instruct an expert to review medical evidence.
