Professor Noel-Ann Bradshaw is Deputy Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Science. She oversees all academic partnerships and programme development in the Faculty, as well as supporting the Schools of Engineering, Science and Computing & Mathematics to meet their strategic priorities.

She has previously worked as a Senior Data Scientist of a large retail chain and in other UK universities.

She is currently Chair of the UK’s Joint Mathematical Council and is on the Royal Society’s Advisory Committee for Mathematics Education.  Her research interests include mathematics education and data science.  She is also known for her research on Florence Nightingale’s contribution to statistics and use and management of data.

Responsibilities within the university

To provide strategic leadership within the Faculty and play a lead role in the delivery of the faculty's strategic priorities as directed by the PVC/Executive Dean.

To be responsible for the strategic overview of the Faculty’s partnerships including industry relationships, transnational academic partnerships, domestic partner colleges.

Research / Scholarly interests

All things data-related, including applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

She has undertaken extensive research looking at Florence Nightingale’s contribution to statistics and use and management of data.

Pedagogical research in the teaching of HE mathematics.
