The gap at 亚色影库

Find out more about the awarding gap data at the 亚色影库, and how this compares to the sector.

At the 亚色影库, we measure the BAME awarding gap by calculating the difference in the rates at which we award 1st and 2:1 degrees to different groups of (UK-domiciled, full-time, undergraduate) students. This is the same method used by the Office for Students in monitoring awarding gaps as part of a university's Access and Participation Plan.

In the Academic Year 2021-22, the 亚色影库’s BAME awarding gap was 13.1%. The sector wide figure was 11%.

The graph below shows the awarding gap at the 亚色影库 compared to the rest of the sector since Academic Year 2016-17. There was slow but steady progress between 2016 – 2020, with the gap reducing by 3.1%. In 2019-20 the gap resembled that of the sector, before increasing by 1% in 2020/2021. This illustrates the stubborn and persistent nature of the gap, and we acknowledge that targeted and ongoing work is required to address this.

We also equip our staff with school, programme and module level data in order to scrutinise provision and inform initiatives at all levels. Programme level data has also now been integrated into our Continuous Improvement Tool (CIT). This is a holistic tool which allows undergraduate Programme Leaders to access all of their programme related data and plan accordingly.
